Meet Cathy Smith

Personal Trainer / Fitness Consultant

Cathy Smith is a full-time personal trainer and fitness instructor in Ellicott City. She has 28 years of experience sharing her passion for fitness with clients ranging in age from 5 to 85.  Specializing in functional training techniques, Cathy teaches her clients how to move better through improved muscle and core strength, flexibility, and balance. She trains both individuals and small groups focusing on proper movement patterns and form. Her goal is to enable clients to be functionally fit for daily living. Cathy is also a fitness consultant with the Howard County Public School System. Her professional fitness certifications include: AFAA Certified Personal Trainer; REEBOCK Certified Cycle Instructor; AFAA Aerobics Instructor; Resist-A-Ball CORE Instructor. She attended Kings College, University of London and graduated from Washington College in Chestertown, MD. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, she is currently training clients and teaching classes via Zoom. 

Opportunities to connect with Cathy

  • Fitness consultation – no charge
  • Personal training – 30 minutes/$35, 45 minutes/$50, 60 minutes/$65
  • Program design – $125 includes (2) 45-minutes sessions & written program
  • Friday Functional Fitness Class – Friday’s 7:00 am/$5 per class

*Fitness equipment needed: sturdy chair, light hand weights, throw pillow or cushion. Bands and/or other equipment ideal but not required.
